After a long phase of stagnancy in mobile display technology, year 2017 saw emergence of edge-to-edge displays. The technology has already been adopted by several mobile manufacturers including Samsung, Apple, LG, Xiaomi and more. It seems that edge-to-edge displays may soon loose their charm as foldable displays could appear shortly out of nowhere. We came across several rumors that Samsung is working on foldable displays and is expected to launch a device in near future. A recent report now claims that ZTE is going to launch Axon M, a foldable smartphone at an event scheduled for next month.
Rumors further claim that the upcoming ZTE smartphone will feature a foldable dual-screen with Full HD resolution. The device is expected to be announced as Axon M at a launch event to be held on October 17.
The upcoming handset is rumored to bear a 6.8 inch foldable display with a resolution of 1,920 x 2,160 pixels. It is to note that there is no official confirmation from the company, and therefore, the above information is subject to change.
ZTE will be holding a press event in New York City on October 17. It is highly anticipated that the company will be sharing some information about the impending foldable device. We’d love to hear from ZTE announcing the first foldable display technology with Axon M.
In the meantime, we expect more leaks and rumors ahead of the big announcement from ZTE. We ask you to stay connected for more!
