[Update: August 2023 Security Patch for Zenfone 8 Flip] ZenFone 8 series Updates Tracker

Asus launched the ZenFone 8 series in May 2021 that including— ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip. The duo equips an octa-core processor based on Snapdragon 888 5G and Adreno 660 GPU. Android 11 runs the devices out of the box along with ZenUI 8. Both smartphones carry a 64 MP primary sensor on the rear side.

• [August 18, 2023]: A new update is rolling out for the ZenFone 8 Flip and Zenfone 8 with firmware versions 33.2010.2010.314. Asus is pushing a new update for Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones.
• [August 10, 2023]: A new update is rolling out for the ZenFone 8 Flip with firmware versions 33.2010.2010.309. Asus is pushing a new update for Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones.
• [May 26, 2023]: Asus is bringing a new firmware update for the ZenFone 8 (ZS590KS) and ZenFone 8 Flip (ZS672KS) bearing version 33.2010.2010.296. There’s a May 2023 Security patch that is part of the latest offering. Official changelog below:

• [March 23, 2023]: A new update is rolling out for the ZenFone 8 Flip and Zenfone 8 with firmware versions 33.2010.2010.269. Asus is pushing a new update for Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones.
• [January 17, 2022]: Asus is pushing a new update for Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones. The update comes with firmware version 33.0210.0210.210 and is live for the Japan users. It brings the Android 13 update and integrates many new features into the smartphone. The wider rollout of the update will begin after successful verification of the update. Asus has uploaded the manual links for those who can’t wait for the OTA update. The Asus Zenfone 8 series users in Russia, India, Taiwan and Europe would receive the update in the coming weeks.
• [September 6, 2022]: A new update is rolling out for the ZenFone 8 Flip and Zenfone 8 with firmware versions 31.1010.0411.119 and 31.1010.0411.122, respectively. The package increases the system privacy by integrating the August 2022 security patch. In addition, it resolves the issue when full-screen moving through the page is abnormal.

• [June 29, 2022]: Asus is releasing the May 2022 security patch to the ZenFone 8 and 8 Flip. The build arrives on the firmware version 31.1010.0411.89 and31.1010.0411.87, respectively. Also, it fixes an issue where the quick settings would appear black when using a VPN

• [April 6, 2022]: The ZenFone 8 and 8 Flip are getting a new update on the firmware version 31.1010.0410.43. The build packs the February 2022 security patch along with a few fixes and improvements as mentioned in the changelog below.

• [March 7, 2022]: The users who have upgraded their ZenFone 8 and 8 Flip to Android 12 are getting a new update. The build arrives on firmware versions 31.1004.0404.107 and 31.1004.0404.93 respectively. It packs the January 2022 security patch along with optimized system stability. Also, the DE_Telekom VoWiFi is enabled in Germany.

• [February 21, 2022]: The same package is rolling out for the ZenFone 8 in Europe, Russia, and globally. The build arrives on firmware version 31.1004.0404.92 and 30.12.112.82 respectively. In addition, you can also upgrade to Android 12.

• [February 14, 2022]: The Zenfone 8 Flip is receiving the December 2021 security patch in Russia, Japan, and globally via firmware version 31.1004.0404.79 and 30.13.35.11 respectively. Also, optimizes the system stability and enables DEO2 and VoWiFi. In addition, you can upgrade to Android 12, if you haven’t, and get all the amazing features!

• [January 10, 2022]: The ZenFone 8 series in Russia is getting a new software bundled with the firmware version 31.1004.0404.81 for the ZenFone 8. Whereas the ZenFone 8 Flip users can identify the package via the 31.1004.0404.69 number. Here is what the package carries!

• [December 1, 2021]: The latest build by Asus is extending to the Russian region on the firmware version 30.13.35.4. It optimizes the system stability for a refined user experience for the owners of ZenFone 8 Flip.

• [October 22, 2021]: After a couple of days, a similar package is rolling out to the partner device, ZenFone 8 Flip on the firmware version JP_30.12.82.35. It adds current security maintenance, improves camera quality ad stability, and improves system stability.

Alternatively, you can flash the firmware via Settings app > System > System updates > Download and install.
