Xiaomi launched its latest flagship the Xiaomi 12 pro in December last year. Now, the company has set a alaunch date to the device in India and some other regions. The official Xiaomi website confirms the launch of the device on 27 April 2022 in India. Xiaomi is branding the new Xiaomi 12 Pro as the “Showstopper” on the official launch poster.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro will be replacing the Mi 11 Ultra from last year. The Mi 11 Ultra was the top-of-the-line device from Xiaomi last year with an excellent camera setup. It came with a second display on the back that can be used for selfies from the back camera and notifications. Xiaomi didn’t include any second display on the back this time However, it still carries a beautiful camera setup for excellent images. The new Xiaomi 12 Pro is going to be the competitor for the already launched OnePlus 10 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in India.
The new Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with an interesting set of specifications that makes it a valuable option in the Indian market. Starting with the display, the Xiaomi 12 Pro features a 6.73 inches LTPO AMOLED display with 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The display is also protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Just like the other flagships this year, Xiaomi also went with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. There are many mixed reviews about the processor in the market regarding the throttling and heating issues, however, these can be improved via software updates.
In the camera department, Xiaomi has gone with a 50 MP triple camera setup on the rear panel. The setup consists of a 50 MP, f/1.9 wide-angle, a 50 MP, f/1.9 telephoto, and a 50 MP, f/2.2, 115˚ ultrawide sensor. On the front, it features a 32 MP, f/2.5 wide camera sensor for selfies. Xiaomi has included a 4600 mAh battery on the device with 120 W fast charging support and 50 W wireless fast charging support. Overall, the new Xiaomi 12 Pro looks like a very promising device, we will know more about the device after the launch.
