At the end of Q1 2021, Xiaomi introduced its first foldable smartphone— Mi Mix Fold. The device is equivalent to the Galaxy Fold series by Samsung. Reportedly, the company is developing a new Mix Foldable flagship that will compete with the latest Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The upcoming foldable by Xiaomi will be a refreshed model of the previous flagship rather than being an entirely new device. Moreover, the leaks suggest that the handset will pack a 5,000mAh battery supporting 120W of fast charging. Additionally, a new refresh rate will sport both external and internal screens for a beaming experience.
Besides the up-gradation in battery and display, the new model has some more improvements. Furthermore, the upcoming Mix Fold is likely to house an under-display camera to serve selfies and video calls. Although, the enhancement in image quality is not yet assured. While the original Mi Mix Fold supports 67W charging and has a high refresh rate only for its external screen.
This is all we know so far. Also, there’s is no exact date when Xiaomi will launch the foldable device. Though some leaks suggest that the device will release at the near end of this year.
