[Update: June 2023 Security Update] Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro Updates Tracker

After three years of gap, Xiaomi finally released its next tab flagship— Mi Pad 5 5G and Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G in August 2021. The series features an 11.0 inches IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. The duo runs Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12.5 on top. The tabs majorly differ in the chipset and camera sections. Mi Pad 5 equips Snapdragon 860 and offers a 13MP single rear sensor. Whereas, the Pad 5 Pro fuels Snapdragon 870 and houses a dual rear camera with 50MP primary snapper. But both have an 8MP lens serving selfies and video calls.

• [March 21, 2023]: Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro are getting MIUI 14 based on the Android 13 update. The Chinese units are getting photon engines which will increase fluency by 88%, and power consumption by 16%. • [February 20, 2023]:  The fresh software is only available for the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 5 in China. The update arrives with build number V14.0.4.0.TKXCNXM and is based on Android 13.
• [February 13, 2023]: Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Indian variant is receiving the January 2023 Security Patch along with some other fixes. The firmware Stable Beta Recovery version is  V13.1.4.0.SKXINXM.

• [August 26, 2022]: The May 2022 Security Patch is now rolling out for the Indian units of the Xiaomi Pad 5. The update is a part of firmware version V13.0.5.0.RKXINXM which also increases the system security.

• [June 6, 2022]: Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is getting a new update with May 2022 Security Patch. The update is available for the European and global regions via firmware versions V13.0.5.0.RKXEUXM and V13.0.3.0.RKXMIXM respectively. Besides increasing system security, the build does not carry any other changes.

• [October 13, 2021]: Xiaomi has started pushing a new update for the global users of Mi Pad 5. It comes with the build number V12.5.4.0.RKXMIXM. The update doesn’t come with any major changes. It only brings better system stability and reduced system lag to your tablet. Since the update is rolling out as OTA, it will take some time to reach your unit. • [August 17, 2021]: The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro is receiving a new software update in China on firmware version V12.5.8.0.RKYCNXM. Though this is not a major build, it brings system optimization. • [August 13, 2021]: The Wi-Fi variants of Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G are grabbing their first software update in the home country.
