Xiaomi has created a storm in the smartphone market by launching a full-fledged flagship i.e. the Mi 11 Ultra. They have recently unveiled the Mi Mix 4, which we have compared with Mi 11 Ultra. A popular tipster named Digital Chat Station has posted details on Weibo (a popular microblogging website) regarding the upcoming Mi 12 series. As per tipster, Mi 12 series is currently in development and will have codenames ‘ZEUS’ and ‘CUPID’ for the Mi 12 and Mi 12 Pro, respectively.Â
He also adds that it will be one of the first smartphones to feature the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8450 SoC aka Snapdragon 898 which will be based on Samsung’s 4nm process. The chipset will feature the Cortex-X2 core, a Cortex-A710 core, and a Cortex-A510 core. The new chipset will run the ARM v9 Pure 64-bit system. However, the Cortex X2 is expected to be 16% faster than its predecessor, i.e. the Cortex X1. Reports suggest that the new chipset will cross the 10,00,000 mark on AnTuTu. Please note these all are rumours, so take this with a pinch of salt.
What can you expect with the Mi 12 Series?
The Mi 12 series is also expected to bring some upgrades like an LTPO adaptive refresh rate screen. The adaptive refresh rate will save the battery and may also bring support for 120W fast wired and 100W wireless charging technology. But considering the new regulation on wireless charging, anything above 50W will be prohibited. So, Xiaomi will restrict its maximum wireless capability to 50W and instead focus on achieving improved fast wired charging. Further, it is also expected to come with upgraded cameras.
