Xiaomi is all set to launch its next budget smartphone– Mi 5X in India on September 5. The highlight of the upcoming device is the introduction of flagship dual camera setup in the budget segment. Xiaomi has already started sending out media invites for the launch event, which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi.
A recent tweet from Xiaomi’s official twitter account indicate that a new device with flagship dual camera will be unveiled on September 5. However, it did not reveal that the upcoming device will be Mi 5X. It is highly anticipated that the latest device would be Mi 5X, which was recently launched in China.
Mi 5X sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 625 chipset. It packs 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage capacity.
On the camera front, the device houses dual 12MP sensors at the rear, a primary wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a secondary sensor with a telephoto lens and f/2.6 aperture. The device is backed by a 3,080mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin on the top.
Other connectivity options include 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB type C. Mi 5X costs 1499 Yuan in China which roughly amounts to INR 15,000.
