We’ve known about Gionee working on an even thinner smartphone for some time now after the Elife S5.5, which stood at just 5.55 mm thick. thinking what could be thinner than 5.55 mm? Well, meet the Gionee Elife S5.1, the world’s thinnest smartphone.
We had an idea about the phone’s design and also knew the device would sport a very thin frame but these are the first photos of the device. Also leaked with the pictures of the device is the specs sheet of the Elife S5.1.
The device boasts of a 4.8″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The camera duo consists of a 8 MP rear snapper and a 5 MP camera unit on the front to cater to your selfies.
Under the hood will be a Snapdragon 400 chipset along with a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 1 GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. 16 GB is made available as the internal storage memory with the absence of a microSD card. Under the back cover lies a moderate 2,100 mAh powerhouse to keep the device going.
The device will run on Android 4.3 with Gionee’s own Amigo 2.0 launcher. You can expect the device to be made official soon.
