Smartwatch business hasn’t yet achieved the success which it deserves and leaves a lot to be desired. Especially, the Wear OS market is stagnating day by day, all thanks to the underpowered hardware and support. One of the main thing which is still a mystery in Wear OS smartwatch is the battery backup. The Wear OS users very well know how pathetic the battery is when tracking athletics. However, it seems Qualcomm is readying smartwatches with the recently proclaimed “Sports Mode” on Snapdragon Wear 3100.
During the eve of Snapdragon Wear 3100 launch Qualcomm said it would develop a “Sports Mode” which delivers up to 15 hours of battery during athletic tracking on Wear OS. The tech is indeed the need of the hour, but it’s sad that no smartwatches were launched till now supporting the so-called Sports Mode. Well, now we can be somewhat optimistic as Qualcomm in a statement said, it is still working with a “major sports brand” on this hardware and that things are “still on track” for release.
Of course, the statement is not a clear clarification on the matter and still a lot to be unearthed. Nonetheless, it’s a good sign that Qualcomm hasn’t axed the project which can change the current state of Wear OS hardware in the market. So, what you guys think of the Sports Mode by Qualcomm? If the company do end up launching a smartwatch with the tech, would you buy one? Do let us know in the comments.
