Vivo Y01, an entry-level smartphone was leaked back in January. Two months later, the device is finally official in several African countries, including Kenya. However, the pricing details and availability are still under wrap. Anyway, let’s see what the new device has to offer.

Vivo Y01 Specifications
The Vivo Y01 is built around a 6.51-inch Halo FullView IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 720×1,600 pixels. The panel supports an Eye Protection Mode that eliminates harmful blue light emissions. It measures 163.96 x 75.2 x 8.28 mm in dimensions and weighs 178 grams.
Moreover, the Vivo Y01 equips a MediaTek P35 SoC under the helm paired with 2GB of RAM. The device offers 32 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. Also, it runs Android 11 (Go edition) along with Funtouch OS 11.1 skin on top.
In the shooting department, the Vivo Y01 carries an 8 MP camera at the back. On the other side, there’s a 5 MP lens housed inside a waterdrop-style notch. A 5,000 mAh battery backs up the device with 10W charging support.
The connectivity options include dual SIM card support, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, Micro USB port, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, e-compass, gyroscope, GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, and Galileo.
In addition, Vivo Y01 offers a fingerprint scanner, facial recognition sensor to serve security. Also, there’s a Face Wake feature that wakes and unlocks the phone when the user picks it up.
