Finally, Vivo has officially announced a list of devices that will be receiving Android 7.1 Nougat update. It took quite a long time for the company to push the major update to the listed handsets. If you own any of the Vivo devices listed in the table below, you are eligible to receive Android 7.1 update in the coming weeks or months depending on your model.
While some of the devices will receive the update over-the-air (OTA), there are other devices that need to do it manually by flashing ROMs that will be made available for download when ready. To be named specifically, Vivo X9 Plus, Vivo X9 and Vivo Xplay 6 will receive the major update as OTA while Vivo X7 Plus, Vivo X7, Vivo Xplay 5A and Vivo Xplay 5S need to be updated manually.
As indicated in the table below, Vivo X9 Plus, which was released late last year, would be the first device to be updated to Android 7.1 Nougat update. The update on other devices follow closely. The initial update is planned for mid-July release with all roll-outs expected to be finished by mid-August.
Vivo brings new Android 7.1 Nougat update along with new Funtouch OS 3.1 skin on the top.
