The latest software for the device can be identified by the firmware version RP1A.200720.012.T727VVRU2DUE2. Though, the build number raises the query if this is accompanied by the May 2021 security patch.

Concerning changes, Verizon is sending all the Android 11 goodies tossed with One UI 3.1 traits to the Galaxy Tab S5e units. Android 11 brings several features like chat bubbles, smart media, and device control panels, one-time permissions, native screen recorder, and much more.

Furthermore, this along with the One UI 3.1 skin that includes improvements for Toolbars, Settings, Quick Panel, Notifications, and a lot more. To be precise, in addition to One UI 3.0 characteristics, the newer version offers some extensive features like:

  • The smart new camera features: Single take feature, Object eraser, Touch autofocus and autoexposure controller, Multi Mic recording,
  • Updated Gallery,
  • Private share,
  • Eye comfort shield,
  • Smart device control,
  • Ability to remove GPS location data from images before sharing them,
  • Improvements to the Calendar and Reminders apps.
  • Ability to switch automatically between your phone and tablet hassle-free, Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds Live, and Buds+’s.

Also, it is to be noted that Galaxy Tab S5e was launched in 2019 with Android 9 Pie and this is the second major OS update for the device. Therefore, after this update, the phone will only receive the regular security patch levels and it won’t bag any OS update in the future.

The OTA update is having a phase-wise rollout. Accordingly, it may take some time to hit all Verizon Galaxy Tab S5e units. But, as always, you can manually check for the build via Settings -> Software update.
