Verizon has started rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid handsets. This recent update brings modified icons, placed inside a circle, that closely resemble the icons available on Google Pixel devices. It also adds another useful feature that launches certain shortcut actions when you long-press an icon on the home screen.
Along with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, it also brings July Android security patch to both the devices. The update packs some bug fixes and system enhancements and is being sent out over-the-air (OTA) in several phases. If you own any of the above devices and don’t see the update coming, you should wait for the update to arrive in next few days. You may always check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About Device > System Updates.
We would like to remind you that your device must be fully charged before you start downloading the update. Also, you should be connected to a trusted Wi-Fi connection or a strong Verizon cellular network for a hassle-free experience.
As of this writing, you may have already started receiving the update. Please share your comments and views on the new features you noticed coming with this update.

I just updated and now I can no longer access my apps other than on home screen. The stupid update removed my apps button. I wish I ignored the update! How can I fix this? I have a Moto Z
You can access your apps by simply dragging up the arrow above the bottom row of icons..
