Verizon Digital Media Services Join Hands With Airtel in India

Finally, Verizon has entered into Indian market, not directly, but through a partnership with Airtel India. This Verizon-Airtel Partnership is not about direct telecomm inclusion along with the Airtel. Verizon has brought its Digital Media Services in India aka in lieu of expanding its content delivery network, they have Joined hands with Airtel in India.

The deal sees the launch of four points of presence in four cities: Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and New Delhi. Speaking on the Occasion, Verizon Digital Media Services CTO Rob Peters said:

“We are expanding our content delivery network in strategic markets that our customers care about, and we have found a long-term partner in Airtel Business. The launch of these strategic PoPs marks the beginning of a strong partnership between Verizon and Airtel Business and further cements our commitment to providing consumers in India, one of the fastest-growing markets for digital media consumption, with exceptional services and quality.”

Further, CEO of Airtel’s voice and data business Ajay Chitkara said that the deal will lead to a “superior user experience” for local customers consuming digital content. Here ar ethe true words from his mouth

This collaboration ensures superior user experiences and seamlessly handles traffic spikes as connected devices, subscribers and content size continue to grow. We are delighted by the positive results seen in a very short time and we are confident that in the long term, Indian mobile Internet users are going to immensely benefit from this partnership.”

Verizon has confirmed that they have already started receiving the positive signs for the increase in the speed of content delivery or handling the users request at much better speed.
