On September 15, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was made available for purchase in 42 countries including the United States. Its been a couple of days only and the US unlocked Galaxy Note 8 has started receiving its first update. The update comes with build number N950U1UEU1AQI5, and weighs just 81.63 MB in size.
The update is not a major one and mainly focuses on improved stability to Google Maps and the Weather widget. It also brings bug fixes and performance improvements to the device. However, it seems a bit surprising that the smartphone remains on August security level after installing this update. We expect that the company will be pushing the latest security patches in the coming days.
If you previously owned an unlocked Samsung device, you might be aware that Samsung has an awful track-record of updating the US unlocked devices. With such a swift and timely update, it seems that Samsung is now more focused on rolling out prompt updates to the unlocked smartphones.
Samsung will be pushing the update in several phases, and therefore, it might take quite sometime to reach all US unlocked Note 8 users.
