[Update: May 2021 security patch] Samsung Galaxy A6 update tracker
In May 2018, Samsung officially launched Galaxy A6 with Android 8.0 (Oreo). The phone features a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it powers an octa-core processor based on Exynos 7870 Octa chipset and Mali-T830 MP1 GPU. Galaxy A6 houses a 16MP camera at the front and rear sides.

[June 27, 2021]: The Galaxy A6 units in the United States and Columbia are grabbing a new software update. The latest software brings the May 2021 security patch that arrives on firmware version A600GNUBU9CUE3. The OTA will hit the remaining countries by the next couple of weeks. According to Samsung’s documentation, the May patch resolves several security vulnerabilities and risks from vectors. Moreover, the company also addresses the fixes that Google term as severe or critical. To know more details about the security level, tap here.
[October 16, 2018]: Samsung starts rolling out September 2018 security patch for its Galaxy A6 units in Europe. The latest build bears the firmware version A600FNXXU3ARJ1. This is a minor update that does not add any new additions. Internally, the patch includes 64 fixes for the Android OS and 18 fixes are added for Samsung’s own vulnerable places, including a leak in the clipboard software.
As the update is having a phase-wise rollout, it may take some time to reach all the units. In the meantime, you can head to Settings > Software updates > Check for updates to check the update manually. We also suggest you switch over to a WiFi network before downloading the update to avoid data charges.
