[Update: May 2021 Security Patch] Nokia 5.1 Plus Update Tracker
HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 5.1 Plus in August 2018 with some mid-level specs. It features a display of 5.86 inches having 2.5D curved glass on the top. It is an Android One device that runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. Under the hood, it equips MediaTek Helio P60 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Nokia 5.1 Plus packs with dual camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor at the rear and 8MP snapper at the front.

[June 1, 2021]: As we have entered June, the Nokia 5.1 is grabbing the old May 2021 security patch. The new software is rolling out in India that weighs around 24MB in size. This is a minor bump in safety level and does not bring any major changes in favor of user experience. But, internally, it brings fixes for severe issues and critical security vulnerability in the System component as defined by Google.
[March 27, 2021]: The March 2021 Security Patch update has finally started hitting the Nokia 5.1 Plus units in India & France. The update doesn’t incorporate any new features or major changes apart from the latest security patch. However, we can expect bug fixes and improvements from security updates. [February 4, 2021]: HMD global is sending January 2021 Security patch update to the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Currently, the build is only limited to India, while other regions will get a hit soon. Reportedly, the company has not included any changes or new features to the device. But internally, it protects the device from several vectors that Google terms as critical or severe. The OTA update will reach out to all units in some time. But, you cal always track the build manually by heading to Settings > About > Software updates. Also, we advise users to switch over to a WiFi network before downloading the update to avoid additional charges.
