Oppo launched the Oppo Reno 7 series smartphones in China in November 2021. The series includes smartphones such as Oppo Reno 7 5G (China only), Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G, and Oppo Reno 7 SE 5G. In 2022, the Reno 7 series debuted in India, including Reno 7 5G and Reno 7 Pro 5G. At the end of Q1 of 2022, Oppo unveiled another smartphone in the lineup, i.e., Oppo Reno 7A. Oppo Reno 7Z 5G and Reno 7 4G are other smartphones in the lineup. All these smartphones run on ColorOS 12 based on Android 11 out of the box. Oppo had rolled out the stable Android 12 update for Reno 7 5G, Reno 7Z 5G, Reno 7 Pro, and others.Â

- [December 20, 2023]:Â The Indonesian users of Oppo Reno 7 smartphone devices can receive the latest ColorOS 14 custom skin official version based on the Android 14 operating system.
- [May 08, 2023]: The ColorOS 13.1 update for OPPO Reno 7 Pro is rolling out with version CPH2371_13.1.0.500(EX01). This new update is the latest upgrade of the skin, which includes new features which enhance the usability of the device.
- [December 20, 2022]:Â Oppo rolls out the ColorOS 13 Open Beta Program for Oppo Reno 7 SE. The program is live in China, and interested users can sign up to have a preview of the same before the stable release. Since it is an open-beta update, it will be much more stable than a closed-beta program.Â
The update is rolling out in a phased stage, and it may take time to reach all the units of Oppo Reno 7 series smartphones. The users can head to Settings > Software updates > to check the update manually. Before updating, connect to a WiFi network before updating the smartphone. Ensure that there is enough storage space and battery backup on your device.Â
