Last year, Motorola, under Lenovo’s leadership omitted its Moto X line of flagship and moved to the new Moto Z series. This exclusive series introduced Moto Mods, which can transform your smartphone in a snap. Since the Moto Z smartphones were launched last summer, it’s time for Motorola to introduce the successors. It is expected that Motorola is going to launch the Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play smartphones in June.
We already came across several leaks about the upcoming Moto Z2 Force and Z2 Play lately. Now, the most recent leak shows images of the Moto Z2 Force and Z2 Play models side by side.
We expect the company to follow previous year’s trend and launch three models under the Moto Z series, namely Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Play, successors to Moto Z Force, Moto Z and Moto Z Play respectively.
If you have noted, all the smartphones in previous Moto Z series were exclusive in one way or other. The Moto Z Force had a shatterproof screen, Moto Z was (is still) one of the slimmest smartphones, and lastly Moto Z Play’s great battery back up leaving behind all other smartphones of that time. So we expect the upcoming models to be out of the ordinary.
It is also rumored that the smartphones are being tested on a Gigabit LTE service. This means the phone series will be more powerful and faster than its predecessors.
As far as specs are concerned, Moto Z2 Force is expected to sport a 5.5 inch QHD display and to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. While, the Z2 Play should come with a 5.5-inch FHD screen and a Snapdragon 626 processor. Both the smartphones (per leaked images) show fingerprint scanners on the front. Moto Z2 Force is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup, just like any other flagships. Moto Z2 Play, however, is not equipped with dual cameras. Both the devices, as Motorola promised earlier, fully support Moto Mods.
