Samsung is well-known for its notorious behaviour in terms of delayed software updates to its devices. They seem to have learnt from the past mistakes and are on-top rolling out the latest software updates. The latest devices to get the update are unlocked variants of Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 10/Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy A50 devices in the US with firmware version G98xU1UES1ATFB, N97xU1UES4CTF2, and A505U1UES7BTF1 respectively.
It is to note that this specific update only upgrades security patch on aforesaid Galaxy devices and do not bring any additional features or improvements. This is in contrast to the International Exynos and Snapdragon variants in South Korea where Samsung is said to have included several camera upgrades/improvements along with July security update. We are unsure of why Samsung left out the camera update for unlocked variants in the US. It is very likely that the company is still working on this update for the US models and will push the update pretty soon.
If you own an unlocked Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 10/Galaxy Note 10+ or Galaxy A50 device, you should soon be prompted to download the update via system notification. The OTA update will be pushed in batches and will be available for all the users in the next few days. If you do not see this update in coming days, you may always check for the update manually by heading to Settings > Software Update.
If you are one of the lucky users who got this update already, do let us know in the comments below.
