Sprint is one of the major telecom operators in the United States. They are now rolling out an update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 on their network with build no. N950USQU2BQJB. This update bumps up the security level to October. More importantly it brings Calling PLUS functionality which is already available on the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ and LG G6.
In case you did not know, Calling PLUS is a feature (VoIP) that combines WiFi calling with an ability to use data when the user is on call. Some Samsung specific apps are also updated in this new build such as Calendar, Gallery, Reminder and Voice Recorder. This update also Samsung DeX error faced by several users.
This update weighs around 383 MB and is already rolling to the users. In case you did not receive it yet, go to settings and select download updates manually to force download the update. Make sure you have enough battery memory space on your device before downloading the update.
We are halfway across November and it is sad that the carriers are rolling out the last month’s security patch now. If it is for a budget or mid-range device, that can be accepted. But, for a flagship for which the customers pay more, what do you guys think? Let us know in the comments.
