Facebook has been looking from quite a time to add the new Voice Transcript functionality to the Messenger app. And now Facebook’s David Marcus, on his Social Media Account, said the company has been testing the feature.
As the name suggests, the feature will add the transcript of any audio clip message you send over the messenger. it will put the message in the text form automatically below the audio clip in the window. As of now the feature is not fully ready, and is in the testing phase. He says,
“Our plan is to test this feature at a tiny scale for now and we’re looking forward to seeing what you think of it before making the experience more widely available.”
Facebook had added the voice clip functionality well before, and now they are looking to bring in some extra spice, that no other messenger offers at the moment. This feature would be a great help, as it will prevent you from hearing the clips your friends send you in the crowd, which in turn could leak your privacy.
