Sony Xperia Z1 is getting camera problems after unlocking device’s bootloader and today Sony Mobile has officially confirmed it. Sony mobile said that the issue is causing the camera not to function.
If you still going to unlock your bootloader then the only way around is to make sure you back up the TA partition (responsible for Sony’s DRM keys) prior to unlocking the bootloader and then restore as necessary, re-locking the bootloader in the process.
Users who received the device, any of those that already have their hands on pre-release units are probably itching to take it around for a few spins, including putting a custom ROM on it are getting this problem.
Sony Mobile now started showing line “Warning! At the moment, unlocking the Xperia™ Z1 boot loader will stop the camera functionality.” on its unlock bootloader site.
