Sony’s latest flagship, the Xperia XZ Premium, was first introduced during the Mobile World Congress 2017. It was awarded as the “Best New Smartphone At MWC 2017” at the GSM Alliance awards at the event. The phone is now set to launch in Europe on June 1.
The Xperia XZ Premium is the first smartphone announced this year that is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC. However, Samsung lead the way by launching Galaxy S8 and S8+ as first Snapdragon 835-based phones.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium will ship with 4GB of RAM, a 3,230 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 support, USB Type-C and Android 7.0 out of the box. As with previous Xperia’s, the power button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The Xperia XZ Premium features a 19MP rear camera and a 13MP setup on the front for selfies. The camera also provides supplementary features like ‘Motion Eye’ which comes with the world’s first memory stacked sensor, Predictive Capture, Anti-Distortion Shutter, and super slow motion video recording at 960fps which seems really amazing.
It comes in a shiny chrome finish and yet again a stunning 4K 5.5 inch display with HDR support and Triluminos display. Gorilla Glass 5 covers the whole phone and IP68 certification for water and dust makes it a considerable choice for users thinking to upgrade their android smartphones this year.
The smartphone will be offered by a majority of network operators and retailers in the country starting June 1.
