With all the smartphone brands coming up, Sony has been lost in the dark. Now the brand is making an entry again with its latest offering: Sony XPERIA 5 IV. At the front, the latest Sony XPERIA 5 IV features a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a metal middle frame. The panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a 21:9 aspect ratio. Also, it is protected with Double-sided Corning Gorilla Victus and is IP65/68 certified, making it dust and splash-resistant. Sony claims that the phone provides 50% more brightness compared to the previous generation and supports Master display mode as well.
Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC powers the phone. The chipset is paired with UFS 3.1 8GB RAM and LPDDR5 128GB of internal storage. If needed, you can also increase the memory via a dedicated microSD card slot. In addition, it equips an in-built mobile version X1 image processing engine as well.
In the optics department, Sony XPERIA 5 IV carries a vertically aligned triple camera setup at the back. The setup consists of a 12MP primary unit, a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens, and another 12MP telephoto sensor. On the other side, there’s again a 12MP snapper with an HDR display. All the lenses come with autofocus and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support.
Furthermore, the smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery, making it weigh 172g. The power cell supports 30W fast charging and wireless charging. As claimed by the company, the wired charger can fuel up the device up to 50% in just 30 minutes. However, the phone ships without a charger. There’s a shitter button on the side, making it 8.2mm thick.
Besides the above-mentioned features, there are more. This includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, Stereo dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, DSEE Ultimate, and 360 Reality Audio support.

The Sony XPERIA 5 IV will go on sale next month in lake green, pearl white, and smoke black color options. The phone costs $999 (~₹79,500) for is sole 8GB/128GB variant.
