Rumors are running the rounds that Qualcomm is working on an improved version of the Snapdragon 835 chip which would be called the Snapdragon 836. Understandably, the California-based chip maker also did the same thing last year when it launched the octa-core Snapdragon 821 which was a revised version of the quad-core Snapdragon 820. The Snapdragon 821 featured in some of the best devices from last years like the Google Pixel and Pixel XL.
Although details of the rumored chip are scarce. We do have a Weibo leak saying that the chip might be launched before 2018 starts. Some rumors also report the alleged chip might feature on the Galaxy Note 8. The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are also worthy candidates for the new SoC.
The Snapdragon 836 is said to be having large cores reaching a clock frequency of 2.5GHz. A slight improvement on the SD 835. The power-efficient cores would be clocked at the same frequency as the previous generation. The leak is too early to say something concrete. Although we will keep an eye on future developments when something more accurate emerges.
