Samsung launched its wireless gaming controller, GamePad in India alongside Galaxy Grand 2. Samsung GamePad is priced at Rs 4,999 and will be available from next month.
GamePad is designed well to work with Samsung Galaxy line up smartphones including Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Note 3, Galaxy S3, S4. It can also work with any Android device running on Android 4.1 or up. It is attachable to mobile devices with displays ranging from 4 inches to 6.3 inches. But currently GamePad is compatible with only selected Samsung smartphones.
For pairing with your smartphone it can use either Bluetooth 3.0 or NFC. There is also provision for HDMI cable to connect it to TVs for a larger display. GamePad works in conjunction with the ‘Mobile Console’ app that can be downloaded from the Samsung App store. Using the app, gamers can launch, browse and buy supported games. Samsung plans to release 35 supported games at the launch which includes some popular games like Need for Speed Most Wanted, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, Virtua Tennis Challenge and Prince of Persia etc.
GamePad measures 137.78×86.47×31.80 mm weighs 195 grams. It has 8-way D-Pad, 2 analog sticks, 4 action buttons, 2 trigger buttons, select button, start button and Play button.
