After launching its flagship device, Galaxy S5, Samsung as some new plans for 2014 which include another high end device before the end of this year and Android Wear powered smartwatch.
As according to interview with Reuters, the Korean company’s senior VP for product strategy, Hankil Yoon, says that Samsung will introduce a new Android smartwatch as well as a “high-end” Tizen smartphone this year. For wearables yoon added, “The slowing high-end market is indeed a concern for most manufacturers, But we’re trying out a lot of new things like wearables, convergence with home devices and cars. I think there’ll be synergies here some day and it’ll eventually help us increase premium product sales longer term.”
Yoon expanded the information for Tizen based smartphones and added that they want to build their own mobile ecosystem to break the Android Universe. Further he concluded that they will be launching two Tizen based smartphones. One model will launch around the end of the second quarter, would be a high-end model and the second would mainly be aimed at the middle of the market to drive volume growth.
In detail Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch will be packed with the Android Wear – Google’s customized software designed specifically for wearables.
So it seems that pretty mush stuff is coming from Samsung this year. We have to wait and watch.
