A recent listing on the Geekbench website reveals few details about a new Samsung device with model number SM-G9600. It is being speculated that Samsung is currently working on a new device apart from upcoming Galaxy Note 8. If rumors are to be believed, this new device could be Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini or Galaxy S8 Lite.
This listing shows that the so-called Samsung SM-G9600 is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 840 SoC, which is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.77GHz. Don’t get mistaken by the name, the Snapdragon 840 is not a successor to the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. Instead, it is just a tweaked version of the Snapdragon 820, though it probably comes with a better GPU and modem.
The listing also exhibit that the phone will ship with 4GB of RAM, and will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. The new Samsung device was able to achieve 1,782 points in the single-core and 4,212 points in the multi-core test. The scores predict the handset to be quite capable, however, it falls short to the flagship Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The above listing and details are part of Geekbench listing only. As of now, Samsung did not reveal any such details that confirm authenticity of the rumored device.
