Samsung, has recently started rolling out May security patch to its latest flagships, Galaxy S8 ans S8+ in India. While the changelog states “usual stability fixes, enhanced features, and performance improvements”, this is to note that the update only includes May security patch and there is no major feature or enhancement that comes along. However, we do suggest to update your device as it brings the latest security patch to fix bugs and security issues.
As the above image shows, the update is sizable at just over 600MB and is being rolled out as OTA. The update raises the build version number to G950FXXU1AQE5 on the Galaxy S8 and G955FXXU1AQE5 on the S8+.
If you do not see the update arriving to your device, you need to click Settings > Software update >Download updates manually to initiate the download. As a reminder, make sure that your battery is sufficiently charged and you are having a trusted Wi-Fi connection.
