Samsung is playing ever card in a bid to get people to use its Samsung Pay app. It is being pushed in many countries by the Korean Mobile giant. Recently Canada, as well as Russia, received support for the app. Now its U.K. Samsung has now announced that the Gear S2 and Gear S3 will also benefit from the service.
A week earlier, Samsung announced that the Samsung Pay app will initially support three banks. Those are MBNA, Nationwide, and Santander. Also remember, not all phones can benefit from the mobile payment service. Currently, there are six of them: The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
The top of the line Gear S3 supports both MST and NFC-based payments. So old credit card readers will work with it as well as new. But if you have the older Gear S2 Classic or Gear S2 Sport only NFC-based terminals will work.
The setup is also pretty simple. Once you receive the update OTA you will have to download the app from the Play Store or Samsung’s Galaxy Store. The setup will walk you through the entire process. And you are good to go. Place your watch on any terminal and you can make payments in a flash.
