Samsung brought its always On-Display feature with the launch of Galaxy S7-series since then this feature has evolved a lot. According to us, it is one of the best software innovation yet done by Samsung, it is practical, usable and makes sense.
To add some more features to it Samsung has rolled out a new update for the Galaxy S8/Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy Note 8 users. This particular update brings GIF support for the lock screen, for more detailed information we will suggest you go through the entire article.
This feature will let you add a small GIF to the lock screen. Lock screen undoubtedly looks satisfying but by implementing this, it now feels complete. You can choose GIF’s from the list of some stock designs or you can upload your own. Do note that using these types of GIF might affect the battery life of your device. We will suggest you using those GIF’s which contains black color because it will slow down the battery drain rate. In case you don’t know in an AMOLED panel the pixels showing black color doesn’t work technically due to which it shows those deep blacks.
Because of the same reason, most sources suggest you using black wallpapers on an AMOLED panel. You can further select the duration of GIF which you are applying and the GIF applied on the lock screen will not gonna show continuous motion, it will play once as you turn on the screen. If you haven’t received any notification about this update then you can download it from the below-provided link. This will update the app to version 3.2.26.4. We are not yet sure that Samsung will gonna provide this update to the S7-series devices or not.
