Last year, Samsung introduced Gear Fit 2 as its new Tizen-based smart band. It seems that Samsung is now all set to release the successor to last year’s Gear Fit 2. The new wearable supposedly called Gear Fit2 Pro may be officially announced alongside the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 on August 23. Just like Gear Fit 2, the next fitness device from Samsung will run Tizen OS, but will be compatible with Android as well as iOS devices.
More than a week ago, a few render images of Gear Fit2 Pro smartwatch surfaced online. At this time, the pricing details about the upcoming wearable device have been revealed in a recent leak. A screenshot via a well-known tipster @evleaks (Evan Blass) on his Twitter account, hints the wearable will be made available at $199.99 in the United States.
While, the Gear Fit 2 was released with a price tag of $179.99 last year, Gear Fit2 Pro will cost $20 more than its predecessor. The leaked price as listed is from a big box US retailer. Gear Fit2 Pro is expected to carry a similar design to the standard Gear Fit 2. However, it will come with several new features like music playback capabilities and support songs from Spotify. Further, the upcoming wearable device comes with 5 ATM water resistance rating along with dust resistance.
Although, Samsung did not confirm Gear Fit2 Pro’s release date. It is highly speculated that the next wearable device from Samsung will be released at the same time as Galaxy Note 8 device which means that the Gear Fit2 Pro will go on sale anytime in September this year.
