Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 LTE and WiFi-only version spotted on FCC

Long after the release of Galaxy Watch 3, finally something about the successor has been revealed. Several rumors about the watch were surfacing on the internet for the last couple of months. Now, for the first time, we have seen something official about the Galaxy Watch 4, thanks to FCC certification.

FCC certification didn’t reveal much about the watch other than the connectivity details. The watch is listed with the model number SM-R885U and it has LTE support. Along with LTE support the watch also comes with Bluetooth and NFC support. Details about the launch are not out yet. According to Jon Prosser, the new Galaxy Watch will go on sale on August 11. The tipster didn’t reveal any details about the launch but from past reports, Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 may launch in Q2 2021.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 WiFi Only

The WiFi-only version of the watch has also appeared on FCC certification. The device is listed with the model number SM-R880. Other than the model number the listing reveals some SAR details only.

As per the 3C listing, it is expected to feature a 240 mAh battery bearing model number EB-BR880ABY.

The Galaxy Watch 4 will be available in two different sizes, 40mm and 42mm. And as we all know from the previous rumors and leaks, both the watches will come with the new Wear OS instead of the Tizen OS. Battery details about the Galaxy Watch 4 have also been provided by the Safety Korea listing previously. Samsung will be launching their new foldable smartphones in July, and chances are that both these watches will launch along with them. Both the watches may go on sale starting August 11 for selected markets.
