Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, the upcoming Galaxy Tab from Samsung is all set to be unveiled on August 9 alongside Samsung’s flagship Note 9 series. Just a couple of months back, the tablet device got WiFi certification and also appeared on Geekbench employing Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. Some previous leaks also indicated that Galaxy Tab S4 has very thin bezels and no physical home button. Since then, rumors were rounding up suggesting that the tablet device will include iris scanner and face recognition features.
A recent report by SamMobile confirms that the forthcoming Galaxy Tab S4 uses a combination of Iris and intelligent scanner to unlock the device. The information was leaked from a firmware video that shows how both features work.
It is to note that Galaxy Tab S4 uses the same Iris scanner and face recognition technology already available for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ devices. Both these features work side by side, and when the sensor recognizes either the face or the iris, it instantly unlocks the device. It offers an added advantage allowing scanners to operate both in lighted and dark surroundings.
A list of rumored and leaked specs include a 10.5-inch 2560×1600 notch-less display, 4GB of RAM, an S Pen and runs on Android 8.1 with Samsung Experience UI on top.
