Samsung starts rolling out January Security Patch for bunch of its phones. Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy A8+ 2018. However, Samsung Galaxy A8+ is not available to buy in some markets yet.
The update comes with firmware version G9500ZCU2AQL2 for Galaxy S8 and firmware version G9550ZCU2AQL2 for Galaxy S8+. The update is packed with January security patch, which includes fixes for five critical Android vulnerabilities and fixes for 13 Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) in the company’s own software. Moreover Currently the update is rolling out on China, but it will be rolling out in other countries in couple of days time.
Coming to Galaxy A8+ (2018), the update carries build number A730FXXU1ARA6. The update is currently rolling out in India, however this update doesn’t carries anything other than the security patch.
You can check the update by going through the settings>>about phone>>software updates. Note: We suggest you to charge your device up to at least 65% for smooth installation of the update. Also, you can switch to WiFi networks if you have any issues or limit on your carrier network. It will let you to save additional costs from carrier on your data limit.
