The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has just been scanned on Geekbench. It leads us to conclude that Samsung is working to get the device to market soon. The device SM-G892A has already been Wi-Fi certified, so that’s one hurdle less to pass. It has image renders leaked earlier.
Coming to the benchmark tests, the device scores 1842 in single-core and 6394 in the multi-core tests. The scores aren’t a surprise as Samsung always stuffs the ‘Active’ lineup with high-end specs. The rugged monster has the Snapdragon 835 on board along with 4GB of RAM. It will run on Android Nougat. And that is pretty much everything the benchmark discloses. The Galaxy S8 Active will most likely have a monster battery as all versions prior to it have spoted bigger batteries.
The test pegs the Galaxy S8 Active behind the Galaxy S8 and the Xiaomi Mi 6 on the table but in day to day usage that is hardly going to make a difference.
In terms of design, the device will feature military-grade build meant to weather all kinds of rough usage. Physically, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active will have no curves, but it will have the Infinity display so that you don’t feel much jealous of your Galaxy S8 owning counterparts.
