Samsung has released yet another security patch for its smart phones following the June security patch for its mid range devices the Samsung Galaxy J3, J7 Max and J1. This time Samsung is rolling out the July Security Patch for its flagship devices from last year, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
This shows that Samsung does not ignore its older devices unlike some phone manufacturers and is also concerned about the security of its users. The build number of these updates are G930FXXU1DQG1 for the Galaxy S7 and G935FXXU1DQG1 for the Galaxy S7 Edge.
The update is sent out as OTA to these devices and you might receive these updates anytime. Make sure that you are on a stable WiFi connection and have considerable amount of storage space before you install this update on your device.
You will receive an update notification automatically or you could also check for it manually by going to about phone section and then checking for system updates in your settings app.
Several security patches and vulnerability fixes come with this update along with some stability and performance improvements. You have to be in the latest version of Android Nougat 7.0 if you wish to receive the latest July security patch for your Samsung device.
