Firmware versions S918BXXU1AWC8 / S918BOXM1AWC8 / S918BXXU1AWC8 are now rolling out for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra respectively. The new OTA update also fixes image quality issues when the Night Mode is turned off. By default, the Camera Assistant app is configured as follows: Shooting Speed > High Resolution > Speed Priority. Following the conclusion of a video conference made using a third-party video calling software, some users have experienced difficulties with the camera failing to recognize faces.
By enhancing OIS, Samsung was also able to address sporadic photo blur. The shutter latency problem has supposedly also been resolved by Samsung. In addition to enhancing image sharpness, Samsung stated that they had fixed color banding issues in the 50MP and 200MP settings.
