In the last few months, Samsung has done a commendable job releasing the latest updates to all their eligible devices. The company seems to be on the right track and has recently updated devices like Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy Note 9, and Note 8 among others. Samsung has now started pushing a new software update to Galaxy M31 model number SM-M315F in India. With this update, the firmware version on Galaxy M31 gets upgraded to M315FXXU1ATG2 and weighs roughly 660MB in size.
Alongside the July 2020 security patch, this update brings support for RCS on Vodafone-Idea, a major cellular network in the country. Just to let you know, RCS feature lets users send text and multimedia messages via mobile data or Wi-Fi, unlike conventional SMS. It also includes a new feature called Glance, that displays content and ads on the lock screen of your Samsung device.
The update brings bug fixes and addresses security vulnerabilities that enhances security and stability on your Galaxy M31 smartphone. If you are located in India and own a Galaxy M31, you will be receiving this update shortly, if did not receive already. The OTA update will be rolled out in phases, so you need to be patient for the update to arrive. You always have an option to check out the update manually by tapping Settings > Software Update > Check for the Software Update.
Before you start downloading and installing the update, make sure your device is sufficiently charged or plugged to a power source. If you are on a limited data plan, it is advisable to connect your device to a reliable WiFi for uninterrupted download.
