Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime receiving April security patch

After rolling-out the latest April patch to Galaxy J3 (2017) in a hurly burly manner even before the beginning of this month. Samsung is now extending the SMR(Security Maintenance Release) to Galaxy J1 Mini Prime. Yes, this time as well the lucky device is another budget smartphone on the Samsung warehouse.

The April 2018 patch comes packed under the firmware carrying version –  J106FJVU0ARC4 for the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime in Russia. As usual, the update is being seeded gradually and hence it’d take a week or so to complete the push on to every units in Russia.

Apart from the April SMR, the OTA update brings – as in most of the software update cases – some minor improvements and bug fixes. There is no sign of new features or UI enhancements after the update. So, the OTA is just an incremental update mainly focus on the security.

Just for additional info. Samsung’s patch for the April 2018, fixes seven critical vulnerabilities present on the Android OS and slew of other vulnerabilities collectively referred as CVE(Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). Most importantly, the patch also fixes eight vulnerabilities found on Samsung Experience and are known as SVE(Samsung Vulnerabilities And Exposures).

If you need to know more detail about the April patch. Visit Android Security Bulletin for CVE related details, and Samsung Security Bulletin for the SVE’s.
