As we know Samsung is going to hold an event at IFA next month on September 4th and now things for Samsung’s first ever smartwatch are leaking. As according to bloomberg Samsung is going to reveal its Galaxy GEAR smartwatch at IFA next month.
Their sources have informed them that it is called the Galaxy Gear, and that we will indeed be seeing it debut at Samsung Unpacked in Berlin on September 4. It was earlier also rumored that Samsung will announce it along with the next generation of its Note series, Galaxy Note III.
Bloomberg even quoted, “the global watch industry will generate more than $60 billion in sales”, and pointing out that a successful smartwatch that tied into a ‘hardware ecosystem’ could lock customers to a specific platform.
In relation to smartwatch, Samsung had shown off its flexible display at CES 2013 in Las Vegas but its unlikely that the smartwatch will have one.
