From the past few days, there were a couple of gossips and official leaks by the company about the Galaxy A52 and A72. Now, the smartphones are official with IP67-certified dust- and water-resistant, 800 nits of peak brightness, in-display fingerprint scanner, etc. Unfortunately, Samsung has launched only the 4G variant of the Galaxy A72. Whereas the Galaxy A52 is available both in 4G and 5G variants.

The Galaxy A52 4G variant carries a price tag of EUR 349 (roughly Rs. 30,200) and EUR 429 (roughly Rs. 37,100) for the 5G model. Simultaneously, the Galaxy A72 4G is priced at EUR 449 (roughly Rs. 38,800). All three devices are available in Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White color options.
Galaxy A52 carries a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display (2400 × 1080 pixels) with a refresh rate of 90Hz, 800 nits of brightness 407 PPI. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 720G Chipset powers the Galaxy A52 4G variant. At the same time, the 5G model is powered by Snapdragon 750G Chipset. The device comes with RAM support of up to 8GB, and further, it can be expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.
In terms of optics, it equips a Quad-camera setup that compromises of 64MP Primary camera with an f/1.8 lens, 12MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.2), a 5-MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and last but not least, a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor. At the front, there’s a 32-MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The camera features include 4K Video Snap, Night mode, My Filters, Scene Optimizer, and others.
On the top, the device runs Android 11 with One UI 3.1 (Skin). Moreover, the device is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with 25W charging support. It also has a in-display fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack etc.
Similar to the Galaxy A52, the Galaxy A72 also runs Android 11 with One UI 3.1 (Skin) out of the box. It features a .7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the phone is powered by an octa-core SoC. The device is available in two variants – 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB onboard storage variant. Additionally, it can be expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card.
For photography, the device flaunts a quad rear camera setup that combines of a 64-MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 12-MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-MP macro sensor, and lastly, an 8-MP telephoto lens which offers 3x optical zoom. On the front, 32-MP selfie sensor for selfies and video calling.
Galaxy A72 packs a 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging support. There’s also a in-display fingerprint scanner. The connectivity options on the board include Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack etc. The smartphone measures 165.0 x 77.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs nearly 203 grams.
As per the promise by Samsung, the Galaxy A52 and A72 smartphones will also get two major updates and the security updates regularly for four years.
