Samsung starts rolling out Android security patch for the month of the January on its Galaxy A3 and J5 (2017). The update comes with firmware version A320FLXXS2BRAA and J530FXXU2ARA2 respectively for Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy J5 (2017).
The update for both the phones packs with January security patch. Which packs with a lot of security fixes from Google and Samsung. The January 2018 security patch includes fixes for five critical vulnerabilities that were discovered in the Android operating system as well as fixes for several low, moderate and high-risk vulnerabilities. There are patches for 13 Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items found in Samsung’s software as well.
The update is currently rolling out in Europe for both the phones, other markets will soon get it. You can check the update by going through the settings>>about phone>>software updates. Note: We suggest you to charge your device up to at least 65% for smooth installation of the update. Also, you can switch to WiFi networks if you have any issues or limit on your carrier network. It will let you to save additional costs from carrier on your data limit.
However, Samsung has already rolled out January Security patch to its Galaxy S8 and S8+, Galaxy A5(2015), Galaxy A7(2016) , Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite , J2 Prime , Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy J1 Prime and Galaxy S6. This shows that Samsung is very serious about its security update now days.
