Back in January 2021, Samsung announced the budget device under the A-series, named Galaxy A02. It came with Android 10 (OneUI 2.0) out of the box and is promised to receive two major updates. Surprisingly, Samsung has finally started rolling out the first significant update, i.e., the Android 11 update based on OneUI 3.1 for the device. The new update comes with the build number A022GDXU2BUI3. It also brings security improvements, i.e., the device gets September 2021 Security Patch and fix for more than 50 privacy-related issues.
The update is now rolling out in Russia and will be made available in other countries soon. With Android 11, new media controls, one-time permissions, chat bubbles, and a better UI will be made available. It also brings a redesigned UI and gets the updated Google and Samsung apps.
The update is currently rolling out as OTA and will take some to reach your unit. Manually check the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Check for Update. If you can’t wait for the OTA update to reach your unit, you can always download and install it manually.
Do note that the brand will push the update to the global units soon. Since the process is long; we recommend you wait for the OTA update to reach your unit. Because the update isn’t massive and it is not worth the effort. Would you mind sharing the article with your fellow Galaxy A02 users?
