The three years old Redmi 9 Power is now receiving the latest April 2023 Security Patch in India. Back in December 2020, Xiaomi introduced Redmi 9 Power in the Indian market. The smartphone was an entry-level performing device. The Redmi 9 Power went on sale at Rs.12,999 for the base variant (6GB RAM). It’s such a big deal that the brand is focusing on updates to such a old and entry-level handset.
The Redmi 9 Power is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 4G mobile platform, under the hood. It features a 6.53-inch FHD+ drop-notch display, quad rear camera, and much more. The device was running on Android 10 operating system when it was first introduced in the country. With the version number V14.0.2.0.SJQINXM, the MIUI 14 upgrade, which is based on Android 12, is now available for the device and the update is about 640MB in size.

Redmi 9 Power MIUI 14 Update

An updated visual design with plenty of white space and clean lines is included with the upgrade. It has a flowing, minimalist aesthetic. The most recent version includes MIUI 14’s new features as well as the April 2023 security updates, as the changelog implies. The new update also brings super icons and Home screen folders are also available in the upgrade, highlighting commonly used apps for quick access.
Other enhancements and features included in MIUI 14 include animal widgets that show adorable animals on the home screen (available only in China), an advanced search option in settings with search history and categories, and a new design language that redefines personalization.
