In December 2019, Xiaomi officially confirmed the list of smartphones that will get Android 11 update. As confirmed, the company has started rolling out the Android 11 update to Redmi Note 8 (vanilla) users. The Stable update bears the build version V12.0.1.0.RCOCNXM and is rolling out in its home country. It is expected to release shortly in other countries soon in the coming days. The update weighs 2.7GB in size, and it is still based on MIUI 12.
The update comes with Android 11 features, a new user interface, and others. It might also include bug fixes for known issues and improvements too. Some of the Android 11 features include Notification history, Media controls, Permissions, etc.
Like all the other updates, the company is sending the updates in a staggered manner. So, it might take a couple of days to reach all the units. Meanwhile, you can head over to Settings>Software updates and check for updates to manually check the updates.
