The Redmi Note 8 series made their debut in India well before Diwali festive season. The company also unveiled MIUI 11 at the same event and even provided an update timeline for all the eligible devices. Following their schedule, the brand pushed the updates via OTA as promised but the rollout for Redmi Note 8 was halted due to glitches. However, the company is once again seeding the long-awaited MIUI 11 update with a new build number.
The initial MIUI 11 update for the Indian Redmi Note 8 carried the build number V11.0.1.0.PCOINXN. Whereas, the new build which is being rolled out, comes with a build number V11.0.2.0.PCOINXN. This new build also carries November 2019 security patch along with fixes for bugs which were responsible for the update to get delayed. Also, if you are running the initial build, you need not worry as the company has already started seeding out an incremental update of 226MB which will fix the bugs and bump up the build number.
In case you cannot wait for the OTA to hit your device, then download the above-mentioned MIUI 11 update for Redmi Note 8 manually from the link provided at the end of the post and install it through the updater app. That being said, there is still no sign of Android 10 update for Redmi Note 8, even though the Pro variant with a MediaTek chipset has an internal build.
