Xiaomi always remains in front for releasing the Kernel source code of their latest smartphones. Xiaomi uploaded Redmi Note 7 kernel source code to GitHub. It is a boon for third-party developers and will assist them in making third-party recoveries and custom ROMs.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (India) codenamed ‘Lavender’ received the kernel source code. Similarly, Redmi Go codenamed ‘Tiare’ kernel source is also available from the Github
It is mandatory for Android phone manufacturers to release any modification they do to the Linux Kernel (Android). Further, it helps the developers to tinker it further and develop custom ROMs.
Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro recently in India. Both the devices carry various new advancements such as new 6.3-inch IPS LCD protected by Corning Corilla Glass 5. Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor whereas its younger siblings pack Snapdragon 660 chipset. The new devices come in different RAM and storage variants.
In the camera department, Redmi Note 7 comes with a dual 12 MP + 2 MP rear camera module while the Note 7 Pro hosts a 48 MP and 5 MP camera module on the front side. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 duo runs on Android v9.0 Pie and backs a 4000 mAh battery.
