Redmi is coming to launch the Redmi K40 series later this month with three different variants: a vanilla Redmi K40, Redmi K40S and the Redmi K40 Pro. By degrees, the company is teasing the device specifications via posters and videos. Redmi’s general manager, Lu Weibing has shed some light on an unknown feature of the Redmi K40.

He shared a post last weekend regarding the upcoming Redmi smartphone while teasing its powerful performance, a smart display and good battery life. A user left a comment to this post saying, “Do not forget dual speakers”. In his reply, the Boss-man aka Lu Weibing commented, “I forgot to mention it in the post” which confirms that it will feature dual stereo speakers.
According to his last disclosures, Redmi K40 is a mid-range smartphone that will carry 6.67 inch quad HD + AMOLED display. It is expected to run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 and powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC chipset. K40 will be available in 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option which is expandable up-to 256 GB. The phone will pack type-C port 33W fast charging technology with battery of approx 4000 mAh having basic connectivity features such as 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.
In terms of camera, Redmi K40 is expected to have world’s smallest punch-hole housing lens, for which the current record is held by Vivo S5 i.e 2.98 millimetres in size. It may support quad-rear 64 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP and 25 MP + 5 MP dual-front camera. Xiaomi Redmi K40 is expected to be available in Black, Gold colour at a price of INR Rs. 24,000.
